6 new cancer centers

Here are six new cancer centers Becker’s has covered since Sept. 7:

  1. Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Health and Hackensack (N.J.) Meridian Health will open an infusion center on the St. Joseph’s Wayne (N.J.) Medical Center campus.
  2. Cleveland Clinic received a $7.9 million, five-year grant from the National Cancer Institute to establish the Radiation Oncology-Biology Integration Network.
  3. Livingston, N.J.-based Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center broke ground Sept. 20 on its $225 million, five-story, 137,000-square-foot cancer center.
  4. Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Center for BRCA received a $55 million gift from Mindy and Jon Gray.
  5. Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital’s revised plan to build a 55,700-square-foot cancer center is facing opposition from residents.
  6. The Timken Family Cancer Center — the latest addition to Aultman Hospital’s campus in Canton, Ohio — will accept its first patients Sept. 12.
