Brooklyn Hospital Center opens cancer center, renovated emergency room

The Brooklyn Hospital Center hosted a double-ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 3 to celebrate the opening of its cancer center and renovated emergency room, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported Oct. 4.

The cancer center is a partnership between Brooklyn Hospital Center and New York Cancer & Blood Specialists.

“Since we’ve started accepting patients, we’ve seen a 25 percent increase in patient volume,” Jeff Vacirca, MD, CEO of NYCBS, told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
