Ballad Health hospital expands radiation oncology service

Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health will expand radiation oncology services at the system’s Greeneville (Tenn.) Community Hospital following a $1 million gift from Scott Niswonger.

The expansion is a part of Ballad Health’s more than $100 million capital investment plan to expand cancer care services across the Appalachian Highlands, according to a Feb. 11 news release from the health system. 

The newly named Niswonger Family Radiation Treatment Center will be equipped with a TrueBeam linear accelerator and Ethos adaptive radiotherapy system, the release said.
