Dana-Farber names pediatric oncology leader

Kimberly Stegmaier, MD, has been named chair of pediatric oncology at Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

She has also been appointed associate chief in the division of hematology/oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital, according to a Feb. 19 news release from the cancer institute.

Dr. Stegmaier has been a faculty member at Dana-Farber, Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, also in Boston, since 2002, the release said. 

She succeeds Scott Armstrong, MD, PhD, who was named senior vice president for drug discovery and chief research strategy officer at Dana-Farber. 

Dr. Stegmaier will begin serving in her new roles April 1.
