NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia cancer center earns NCI renewal

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center has earned renewed designation as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute.

The five-year renewal comes with $26.9 million in funding, according to a Nov. 3 news release from the health system.

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center first received NCI cancer center designation in 1972, which was elevated to a comprehensive cancer center designation in 1979.
