OU Health to open new cancer care facility

Oklahoma City-based OU Health will open the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center-McAlester Dec. 15, in collaboration with McAlester (Okla.) Regional Health Center. 

OU Health is working with local organizations to establish transportation services for cancer patients, according to a Dec. 3 news release from the health system.

OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center-McAlester will provide medical and radiation oncology services, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive care and on-site drug compounding. The center will be fully integrated with the Stephenson Cancer Center in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., opening clinical trial access to McAlester patients. 

The new facility expands OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center’s footprint to accommodate rural Oklahoma communities in McAlester, Norman and Tulsa, the release said.
