Multiple western New York health systems have disbanded a joint oncology marketing partnership after seven years.
The Great Lakes Cancer Care Collaborative included such healthcare organizations as Buffalo-based Kaleida Health and Erie County Medical Center Corp., which will go back to branding their oncology programs individually.
Erie County Medical Center CEO Thomas Quatroche Jr., PhD, told Buffalo Business First the collaborative was ambiguous to the public since there were so many partners involved.
“It wasn’t clear to people,” he said in the Jan. 12 story. “There were a lot of organizations in it, and trying to figure out the branding piece of it was confusing to people.”
The organizations spent about $1 million on the joint marketing effort, according to the news outlet.
