Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center has launched an AI assistant to streamline the patient screening process before MRI and CT scan appointments.
The Moffitt Information Assistant — or Mia — went live on Feb. 24, according to a news release from the cancer center.
The voice-based AI assistant calls patients prior to MRI and CT scans to ask screening questions and review appointment details. Mia follows screening workflows developed and tested by Moffitt’s clinical teams, and IT and clinical informatics experts, the release said.
Calls with Mia operate within secure, HIPAA-compliant systems and patients can opt out of the call at any time.
