The University of Chicago Medicine’s AbbVie Foundation Cancer Pavilion is expected to open April 2027.

The pavilion will be the first freestanding facility solely dedicated to cancer in Illinois, according to an April 15 news release from UChicago Medicine.

The $815 million project was supported by a $75 million donation from the AbbVie Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the biopharmaceutical company AbbVie.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
