Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health has launched a partnership with AI platform Lind to improve patient identification and matching for cancer clinical trials.

The health system will embed Lind’s platform into its EHR to automatically screen patients for clinical trial eligibility, according to a May 27 news release.

A recent study, set to be published June 1 in “JCO Oncology Practice,” found the platform’s clinical matching capabilities had a 94% agreement rate with clinical reviewers. Researchers from Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Advocate Health, also found the platform reduced the time required to complete eligibility assessments from up to an hour to minutes, the release said.

Researchers are now studying whether the platform can identify more patients eligible for trials, leading to increased trial screening and enrollment.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
