American Cancer Society names 1st COO

The American Cancer Society has appointed Art delaCruz as the organization’s first COO.

Mr. delaCruz will begin serving in the newly created role June 17, according to a June 10 news release from the American Cancer Society. 

A 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he most recently served as CEO of the veteran-led humanitarian organization Team Rubicon. 

“His experience leading complex organizations makes him the right leader to help us advance our mission with even greater impact,” Shane Jacobson, CEO of the American Cancer Society and ACS CAN, said in the release.
