The University of Cincinnati Cancer Center has launched a specialized clinic to streamline and expedite care for patients with a high suspicion of cancer.

The Oncology Rapid Diagnostic Clinic will schedule appointments within 24 to 48 hours of a referral, according to a June 11 news release from the university.

Patients will undergo a coordinated diagnostic workup during the initial clinic appointment, allowing for treatment and clinical trial enrollment to occur as quickly as possible, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
