Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has filed a Determination of Need application with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to reopen a radiation oncology clinic in partnership with Lawrence, Mass.-based Merrimack Health.

The clinic would open on the Merrimack Health campus in Methuen, Mass., according to a July 9 news release from Dana-Farber.

Methuen Hospital’s previous radiation oncology clinic closed in October 2025 in relation to the bankruptcy of Dallas-based Steward Health Care.

The new clinic would feature upgraded equipment and improved space, and would be operated by Dana-Farber physicians and staff as a licensed Dana-Farber site.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
