Dana-Farber, OSU James partner on breast cancer research

Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Columbus-based Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center — James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, and the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation have launched a joint research initiative on metastatic inflammatory breast cancer.

The initiative will unite the Dana-Farber and OSU-James comprehensive inflammatory breast cancer clinics, according to a July 17 news release from Dana-Farber. 

The organizations will study quality-of-life outcomes, including lymphedema and treatment-decision regret, and evaluate local therapy approaches such as mastectomy and regional radiation.
