Indianapolis-based Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center has tapped Alastair Thompson, MD, as director of the Vera Bradley Foundation Center for Breast Cancer Research.
Dr. Thompson will also serve as associate director of translational research at the cancer center, as well as the Vera Bradley Foundation Senior Professor of Breast Cancer Discovery and research professor of surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine, according to an Aug. 3 news release from the university.
He joins Indiana University from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served as the Olga Keith Wiess Chair of Surgery and chief of breast surgery.
