Salt Lake City-based Huntsman Cancer Institute has named Theresa Werner, MD, chief of the division of oncology in the department of internal medicine at the University of Utah’s Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, also in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Werner serves as deputy director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Huntsman Cancer Institute and as a member of the institute’s CEO Cabinet, according to an Oct. 5 news release.
She joined the University of Utah in 2004 as a hematology-oncology fellow and became a faculty member in 2007. She is a tenured professor in the department of internal medicine, an adjunct professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology and the Karen H. Huntsman Presidential Endowed Chair in Women’s Cancer Research.
