Seattle-based Fred Hutch Cancer Center leader, John Thompson, MD, is retiring at year's end after serving at the organization for 40 years.

Omaha-based Nebraska Medicine's Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center officially opened the doors of its new location in Kearney, Neb., a city about 200 miles west of Omaha. 

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center opened a $98 million cell and gene therapy hub aimed at growing the center's capabilities for cancer cell therapy research.

The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center has been awarded nearly $3 million in grants to expand two programs focused on diversity and equity in cancer research. 

The Cancer Institute at Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital has opened a new outpatient Cellular-Immunotherapy Transplant Unit, enabling some CAR T-cell and bone marrow transplant patients to continue living at home during treatment.
