Flemington, N.J.-based Hunterdon Health began a major renovation of its cancer center on Dec. 23.
The Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center will remain fully operational throughout the project, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
The project marks the second phase of the health system’s Beaming Beyond Cancer campaign, a multiyear fundraising and renovation initiative aimed at modernizing the cancer center. To date, the system has received more than $1.8 million in philanthropic gifts to support this effort.
Earlier this year, Hunterdon Health installed a new linear accelerator to offer more precise and efficient radiation therapy.
“The cancer center renovation is not simply a construction project — it is a central and defining facet of our strategic vision,” K.C. Rondello, MD, chair of the Hunterdon Health Board of Trustees, said in a news release. “It reflects both future state of the art healthcare and the promise of the organization we aspire to be: one that is innovative, compassionate, and ceaselessly committed to caring for our community’s most vulnerable.”
Hunterdon Health operates a 178-bed, nonprofit teaching hospital and more than 30 primary and specialty practices in western and central New Jersey.
