Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has opened the Patient Survivorship and Supportive Care Room at UHealth SoLé Mia Medical Center in North Miami, Fla.
The space was established with Not My Daughter… find a cure now!, a breast cancer nonprofit that has worked with Sylvester for nearly a decade, according to a Sept. 30 news release.
The facility offers acupuncture, massage and art therapy, nutrition counseling, exercise programs and emotional wellness services, the release said.
Not My Daughter previously funded similar rooms at Sylvester sites in Plantation and Deerfield Beach, Fla., making SoLé Mia its third location.
At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
