Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich in Connecticut will receive a $25 million grant recommended by an anonymous donor in support of expanded cancer services.

The gift will support the hospital’s building fund and is being made in honor of Dickerman Hollister Jr., MD, a retired oncologist who spent his four-decade career treating patients in the Greenwich area, according to a Dec. 17 news release from Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Hollister retired in 2022.

The funding will enable expansion of the hospital’s cancer services, including infusion therapy, a multispecialty clinic, radiation oncology, breast cancer care and an inpatient unit. The expanded space will also support the addition of medical and surgical oncologists, clinical trial access and advanced therapies.
