New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health has appointed Kalil Abdullah, MD, system director of central nervous system cancer.
Dr. Abdullah was also named executive vice chair of the department of neurosurgery, according to a Sept. 10 news release from Northwell Health.
He will lead a translational brain tumor research laboratory at Northwell’s Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, which will work in collaboration with Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) Laboratory.
Dr. Abdullah previously served as director of the translational neuro-oncology laboratory at Pittsburgh-based UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
