Aurora-based University of Colorado Anschutz Cancer Center has named Wells Messersmith, MD, its next director.
Dr. Messersmit’s appointment is effective Oct. 1. He will be the cancer center’s fourth director in its 41-year history, according to a Sept. 21 news release from the university.
He has led the department of medicine’s division of medical oncology since 2015. He also serves as associate director for clinical services at the cancer center and as chief medical officer of oncology services at Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth.
