Atlanta-based Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University has named Maria Russell, MD, chief of the division of surgical oncology.
Dr. Russell currently serves as Winship’s chief quality officer and will step into her new role Oct. 1, according to a Sept. 22 LinkedIn post by the cancer institute.
As chief of the division of surgical oncology, she will succeed Charles Staley, MD. Dr. Staley is the Holland M. Ware Professor of Surgery in the division of surgical oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.
