New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital had the lowest rate of ED visits for cancer patients receiving outpatient chemotherapy between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2023, according to CMS data published Feb. 19.
CMS data reflects the rate of patients who visited the ED within 30 days of outpatient chemotherapy for anemia, dehydration, diarrhea, emesis, fever, nausea, neutropenia, pain, pneumonia or sepsis.
