7 cancer centers opening, expanding or breaking ground

Here are seven recent cancer center openings, expansions and groundbreakings:

  1. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital Cancer Institute is expanding its radiation oncology program with new technology and locations.
  2. Bend, Ore.-based St. Charles Health System will begin construction on a cancer center at its Redmond campus.
  3. Loma Linda (Calif.) University Cancer Center completed expansions that doubled its patient capacity.
  4. Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute opened its 16th cancer center, called Karmanos Cancer Institute-Roseville (Mich.)
  5. New York City-based Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is partnering with New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering to provide cancer care.
  6. UPMC opened the Hillman Cancer Center in Carlisle, Pa.
  7. Tampa-based Moffitt Cancer Center broke ground on its Speros, Fla.-based cancer center.
