The American Society for Radiation Oncology has elected Beth Erickson, MD, as president.
Dr. Erickson is chief of brachytherapy services and the J. Frank and Vera B. Wilson Professor of Radiation Oncology at Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin, according to a July 29 news release from ASTRO.
The organization also elected four officers to the board of directors:
- Indrin Chetty, PhD, director of the division of medical physics and vice chair of physics of radiation oncology at Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai, was elected clinical affairs and quality council vice chair.
- Kenneth Rosenzweig, MD, chairman of the department of radiation oncology at New York City-based Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, was elected education council vice chair.
- John Suh, MD, chairman of the department of radiation oncology and associate director of the Gamma Knife Center at the Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center at Cleveland Clinic, was elected government relations council vice chair.
- Gita Suneja, MD, professor of radiation oncology and adjunct professor of population health sciences at Salt Lake City-based Huntsman Cancer Institute, was elected healthcare access and community engagement council vice chair.
