City of Hope Atlanta has formed a cancer care alliance with Thomaston, Ga.-based Upson Regional Medical Center, a rural community hospital in West Central Georgia.

Board-certified physicians from City of Hope Atlanta will provide cancer care directly to patients and via telehealth at Upson Regional Medical Center. Specialty services will be available for Upson Regional Medical Center patients at the City of Hope cancer center in Newnan, Ga., according to a Feb. 23 news release.

The affiliation marks City of Hope Atlanta’s third rural partnership, having previously partnered with Colquitt, Ga.-based Miller County Hospital and Fitzgerald, Ga.-based Dorminy Medical Center.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
