Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute received a $78 million gift from the Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual bike-a-thon across Massachusetts.
Since its foundation in 1980, the event has raised $1.125 billion for Dana-Farber, according to a Nov. 2 news release from the institute.
One hundred percent of every rider-raised dollar from the Pan-Mass Challenge goes directly to Dana-Farber, making the fundraiser Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, the release said.
