Holyoke (Mass.) Medical Center is expanding its oncology and hematology services, adding two physicians and two new office locations to reach more cancer patients across the region.
Masih Farooqui, MD, and Subramony Subramonia Iyer, MD, will join HMC’s medical staff in early November, according to an Aug. 12 announcement. The new hires will practice alongside Renuka Dulala, MD; Zubeena Mateen, MD; and Katarzyna Swistak, DNP, as part of the hospital’s oncology and hematology team. The medical center will also open new oncology and hematology offices in Holyoke and East Longmeadow, Mass.
“This expansion allows us to increase access to experienced oncology and hematology providers while offering convenient locations in Holyoke and East Longmeadow,” Spiros Hatiras, president and CEO of Holyoke Medical Center, said. “Most importantly, it strengthens our ability to provide the compassionate, personalized care our patients and their families deserve close to where they live and work.”
Dr. Farooqui trained in Pakistan before relocating to Western Massachusetts in 1990 and has practiced in the Springfield, Mass., area for more than 30 years. Dr. Subramonia Iyer trained in India and the United Kingdom, moved to the U.S. in 2007, and has practiced in the Springfield area for more than 14 years.
