Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin received $27 million for the MCW Cancer Center from Tim and Barbara Michels and the Michels Family Foundation.
A research facility will be renamed the Medical College of Wisconsin Michels Center for Cancer Discovery in honor of the donors, according to a June 22 news release from the college.
The donation will help expand patient access to precision oncology-driven prevention and early detection strategies, enhance technological infrastructure, recruit “world-class” investigators and clinicians, and support the next generation of cancer scientists, the release said.
At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
