Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health has appointed Vance Sohn, MD, as director for the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Sohn most recently served as a surgical oncologist in the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to an Oct. 9 news release from the health system.
He retired from the Army in 2024 after holding leadership roles, including chief of general surgery and program director within the Office of the Surgeon General, the release said.
