Moffitt buys land for $12M for new outpatient center

Tampa-based Moffitt Cancer Center purchased 34 acres in Lakeland, Fla. for its new outpatient facility, Tampa Bay Business Journal reported Aug. 3.

In 2025, Moffitt saw more than 1,450 new patients who lived in Polk County and is opening its first cancer outpost in the county to bring services closer to patients.

The outpatient facility, expected to open in 2029, will offer cancer screenings, diagnostic imaging, clinical labs, infusion services, medical oncology clinics, radiation therapy and clinical trials.
