Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center will build an outpatient center in Lakeland, Fla., marking the first facility of Moffitt’s future Central Florida campus.
The outpatient center was made possible through a $10 million gift from Wesley and Ashley Bell Barnett, as well as a partial land donation from Steven, Dane and Tom Rogers and the Rogers family, according to a Feb. 13 news release from the cancer center.
Construction on the project will begin in 2027, and the outpatient facility is expected to open in 2029, the release said.
Moffitt also plans to build a surgery center and a wellness and research education center during the next phase of development on the 34-acre site.
