The tool, called PATHOMIQ-PRAD, analyzes medical images to identify prostate cancer and more accurately predict disease progression, according to a Sept. 23 news release from Mount Sinai.

Researchers reported on the tool’s findings in a study published Sept. 3 in European Urology

The tool is designed to allow physicians to “identify those at higher risk of rapid disease progression and provide more timely, accurate predictions for earlier interventions and more targeted, personalized, treatment plans,” the release said.
