Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Medicine named Nirali Shah, MD, director of the pediatric/adolescent and young adult cell and gene therapy program..
Dr. Shah, a pediatric oncologist, will also serve as associate director for translational research for the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, and treat patients at the University of Maryland Golisano Children’s Hospital, according to a July 30 university news release.
She steps into her new roles in September.
Currently, Dr. Shah is head of the pediatric oncology branch of the hematologic malignancies section and senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute Center for Cancer Research.
