Nemours Children’s names chief of hematology/oncology

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children’s Health has appointed David Dickens, MD, as division chief of hematology/oncology for Nemours Children’s Hospital Florida.

Dr. Dickens previously served as clinical director of pediatric oncology services and director of the pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship program at Iowa City-based Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa. He also served as the endowed chair in pediatric oncology, clinical and translational research, according to a March 30 news release from Nemours Children’s Health.

As division chief, Dr. Dickens will oversee an annual $7.5 million grant from the state of Florida’s Cancer Connect Collaborative Research Incubator.
