Patients are able to save a nearly 150-mile drive to the cancer center in Buffalo and can now receive full oncology services at Buffalo’s Roswell Park at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, CNY Central reported Dec. 14.
Before its opening, between 20% and 30% of cancer patients at St. Joseph’s in Syracuse had to look outside of the city for comprehensive oncology services. The project was three years in the making.
Services are available in a temporary location at the moment, but within the next year will move into a new facility.
