Northwell Health taps cancer leader

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and the Northwell Cancer Institute have tapped Miguel Materin, MD, as system head of ocular oncology.

As system head, Dr. Materin will establish a pediatric eye tumor program at Northwell’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center, according to an April 15 news release from the health system.

He previously served as division chief of ocular oncology at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University School of Medicine and director of ophthalmic oncology at New Haven, Conn.-based Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Health.
