City of Hope is working to recruit about 350 people as it plans to open a new 190,000-square-foot cancer center in Irvine, Calif., in summer 2022, The Orange County Register reported Dec. 29. 

Cancer patients who experienced breakthrough COVID-19 infections had a 13 percent death rate, a study published Dec. 24 in the Annals of Oncology found.

McLaren Flint (Mich.) hospital is embarking on a $46 million project to expand the Karmanos Cancer Institute and the McLaren Proton Therapy Center.
