Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital Cancer Institute has renamed its adolescent and young adult cancer program after receiving a $1 million donation.

The Richard and Melanie Gonzmart Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Program is led by medical oncologist Victoria Rizk, MD, according to a Jan. 15 news release from Tampa General Hospital.

The program provides care for cancer patients aged 15 and older, and offers services such as fertility preservation, transportation, nutritional guidance and nurse navigation.

Mr. Gonzmart is the fourth-generation caretaker of the 1905 Family of Restaurants and a former board member of Tampa-based Florida Health Science Center, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
