U of Kentucky’s Markey Cancer Center inks international partnership

The Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky., part of the University of Kentucky, has inked a new partnership with Ukraine’s Kyiv Regional Oncology Dispensary, according to a May 22 news release.

The two oncology centers will collaborate on research related to cancer treatment and prevention, but additional opportunities for teaching, staff exchanges and other cultural collaborations. 

“This international collaboration between the Markey Cancer Center and Kyiv Regional Oncology Dispensary is a new milestone that will facilitate the exchange of educational, scientific, and clinical expertise in oncology,” Vivek Rangnekar, PhD, the university’s associate director of transdisciplinary collaboration and co-leader of the cancer cell biology and signaling research program.

The partnership was made official in April, according to the release.
