University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center has received a grant from the Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation to establish the UChicago Medicine Ralph Lauren Center.
The UChicago Medicine Ralph Lauren Center will serve patients at Harvey, Ill.-based Ingalls Memorial Hospital beginning in 2026, and at the AbbVie Foundation Cancer Pavilion upon the facility’s expected completion in 2027, according to a Jan. 21 news release from the health system.
Nita Lee, MD, UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center’s associate director of community outreach and engagement, will serve as program director for both locations.
The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation has made a $25 million commitment to expand or establish five Ralph Lauren-named cancer centers across the U.S., of which the UChicago Medicine Ralph Lauren Center will be the fourth.
The foundation’s first three centers — Los Angeles-based Ralph Lauren Center at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Washington, D.C.-based Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Ralph Lauren Center — opened in 2024, 2023 and 2003, respectively.
