Lexington-based University of Kentucky has topped off the new UK Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building.
The building will be the new home of the UK Markey Cancer Center, as well as a spine center, ambulatory surgery space and other outpatient services, according to a July 16 news release from the university.
All UK Markey Cancer Center services will be housed in the new building alongside support services such as imaging, lab services, urgent care, pharmacy, palliative care and rehabilitation, the release said. The facility will also expand capacity for UK Markey’s precision medicine and cellular therapy programs.
The UK Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building is expected to open for patient care in 2028.
At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
