UMC Health System and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, both based in Lubbock, Texas, have opened the UMC TLC² Foundation Cancer Center.

The facility is nearly three times larger than the previous cancer center and features dozens of exam rooms and more than 50 infusion chairs for both adult and pediatric patients, according to an April 17 news release from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

The cancer center will also offer integrative medicine, wellness programs, patient and family support services, as well as expanded access to research and clinical trials, the release said.

At the Becker's Perioperative Summit, taking place September 14–15 in Chicago, perioperative leaders and healthcare executives will focus on improving operating room efficiency, enhancing patient safety, optimizing staffing and driving innovation across surgical services.
