UMMC Cancer Center receives $10M

Jackson-based University of Mississippi Medical Center has received a $10 million gift from the Bower Foundation in support of a new cancer center. 

The gift is part of a $125 million philanthropic campaign to construct a new facility for the UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute, according to a March 9 news release from the health system.

The project is more than 70% funded, the release said.
