The National Comprehensive Cancer Network has published guidelines for caregivers of cancer patients as part of its Guidelines for Patients resources.
The NCCN’s “Guidelines for Patients: Caregiving for People with Cancer” are available for free on the organization’s website, according to an Oct. 27 news release.
The guidelines include “comprehensive information on what cancer is and what to expect during treatment, explanations for complicated medical terms and concepts and suggested questions to ask the doctor,” as well as tips for providing emotional support, managing finances and household tasks, addressing legal concerns, managing medical care and practicing self-care.
