3 cancer centers earn radiation oncology accreditation

Three cancer centers recently earned accreditation from the American Society of Radiation Oncology. 

Albany, Ga.-based Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, along with Tampa General Hospital’s Cancer Institute and TGH Cancer Institute Brandon Healthplex, are among the latest facilities to gain accreditation from ASTRO this month.

ASTRO launched its Accreditation Program for Excellence in 2014. The program is a voluntary, peer‑reviewed process that evaluates radiation oncology facilities on patient safety, treatment quality, staffing and care coordination.
