Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network has tapped Matthew Holtzman, MD, as chief surgical officer for its Western region.
The system’s western region includes AHN Beaver Hospital and AHN Sewickley Hospital, according to a Sept. 23 Allegheny Health Network news release.
Dr. Holtzman is a surgical oncologist and joins from Pittsburgh-based UPMC, where he served as medical staff president, vice chair of the Department of Surgery and chief of general surgery at UPMC Shadyside, also in Pittsburgh.
His appointment as chief surgical officer will begin March 2027, when he will also serve as surgical oncology business development and community relations leader for the western region.
