The Byrne Family Cancer Research Institute at Dartmouth Cancer Center in Lebanon, N.H., has reached its $50 million fundraising goal, the organization said Jan. 22.
The five-year campaign launched publicly in 2022 with a $25 million gift from Dorothy Byrne of the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation. After that initial gift, the institute received more than 105 additional gifts to support cancer research, student training and clinical innovation.
Since the research institute’s founding, Dartmouth Cancer Center has reported a seven-fold increase in clinical trial participation. Its innovation accelerator has developed 10 start-ups, completed six licenses and drawn more than $17 million in follow-on funding.
Dartmouth Cancer Center has also received nearly $110 million in research grants since 2022.
