Utah has the lowest rate of lung cancer among states while Kentucky has the highest, according to the American Lung Association.
The organization published its 6th annual State of Lung Cancer report Nov. 3. The report analyzed the state of lung cancer across 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as tracked shifts in national trends.
In the last five years, the rate of new cases has decreased 13% annually. Meanwhile, survival rates have increased from 26% to 29.7%.
Here are the states with the highest and lowest rates of lung cancer (Note: This list includes ties):

1. Kentucky: 84.1%
2. West Virginia: 76.3%
3. Mississippi: 68.7%
4. Missouri: 68.2%
4. Arkansas: 68.2%
6. Indiana: 67.2%
7. Tennessee: 66.9%
8. Maine: 66.7%
9. Ohio: 63.9%
10. Oklahoma: 63.2%
Lowest
1. Utah: 25.3%
2. New Mexico: 32%
3. California: 36.5%
4. Colorado: 37.3%
5. Hawaii: 38.2%
6. Wyoming: 38.4%
7. Arizona: 41.1%
8. Nevada: 43.6%
9. Idaho: 43.9%
10. District of Columbia: 44.7%
